Quick trip to Wallsmere Fishery for The Tackle Company and can I first say we throughly enjoyed the whole experience.
The welcome and quick tour before dark was very friendly and the owner seems to have created a real gem.
The lake is around 3 acres and a short 2 hours and 15mins from the shuttle / ferry Calais.
FACILITIES REVIEW
It’s has a wonderful very modern lodge, the best I’ve stayed in.
Inside the lodge it has three bedrooms/bathrooom/lounge and kitchen plus if interested WiFi and large TV with Netflix.
Outside it has a bbq, seating and some swings
We decided to stay in the home comforts of the lodge but ample room to put Bobbie’s up.
In front of the lodge is a great big swim which has easy access to the whole lake casting or bait boat.
It can also accommodate anglers stalking round the lake or even putting Bivvys up in other areas.
FISH REVIEW
The fishing 🎣 was slow for our short trip but I did manage to catch one of the 100 plus fish that reside in the lake with about another 15-20 being stocked this winter(Nov 2025).
So around 120 fish with no nuisance residents and the weight gains are fantastic - the one I caught had put on 8lb in one year and by the owners response most that have been caught have gained this weight with the feeding program.
So most of the 40lb plus stocked fish have not been caught yet so by opening could had quite a few 50lb plus carp
