Sept 2026 Chase Lakes, France

This time The Tackle Company trip headed off to Chase Lakes in France

We arrived in Siossons Friday night and stayed in the Best Western Plus Hotel opposite the Cathedral.

We always go the night before and stay in a hotel then you're all ready to go Saturday morning.(good catch up before splitting up on the lake)

The hotel and City was a great place to find and around £50 each if sharing a room and plenty of places to eat and drink (near the white bridge)

Saturday morning- we had a 20 min drive to the Lake easy to find on sat nav and the lake is Signposted on each gate.

We entered the lake (2nd gate )to be greeted by Stewart the Bayliff and his Dog Randall

Very welcoming and made us feel at ease straight away

Then along came Neil the Chef

also greeted us very welcoming.

He offered us a drink which obviously lets have a beer stubby - so far so good

Walked the lake - yes it is weedy but plenty of clear patches to fish to if you know how to fish in weed.

It’s just like every gravel pit in the uk

If you don’t like fishing weedy waters then maybe this would be daunting walking round.

Draw was done Simon n Pepsi road bank - Stuart and Kevin Social Bay.

The lake is literally a square and you fish opposite banks to each other.

The Yellow boys in the Lake are the split with either side but house bank has a further cast. ( to the split )

The swims are huge and very clean, easy to bring any size Bivvy and 7 swims in total

Next up the facilities- now this was fantastic for what we required, being on the food package.

Each SIDE had a kitchen area , shower and toilet all very clean and we thought ours on the social bank was great, until you see the House bank facilities- AMAZING

so far.

Well let’s start the fishing

Social bank very easy to find clearings in the weed ,we never needed the BOATS, which were supplied with life jackets and motors ( extra cost )in every swim.

House bank - now more work required as the shallows are very shallow and weedy so our nearest angler to the entrance was in The Inbetweeners - Simon who is more like a Neil ( if you know the programme

)

Pepsi went in Kitts Corner and had more depth.

These swims needed more attention to using the boats as range and very weedy to the right ( shallows) but still had casting spots in each swim.

Saturday came after setting up then having one of the BIGGEST N BEST food packages we have ever had that week.

Well done Chef !!!!

First bite 1 hour after starting and a 48 plus to Social Bank .. Stuart who was in Social 1 and half of 2 with Kevin in Soical 3 and half of 2.

started how the week finished all DAY BITES no BAIT BOATS or BOATS USED !

Sunday soon came and Pepsi had one early Morning ( casting range ) then 7am action started of Social bank - lots caught !

The week kept with this pattern all week

Then every other day good for some reason …..

It took Simon a while to get his spots going then Wednesday onwards consistently catching.

Thursday got to mention another hectic day with 6-7 caught in 4 hours.

The fish are all very clean and unlucky if your average is not around 40lb each.

All fish unhooked and weighed in the water with everything available by the lake to do this with ease. ( But do need assistance on each fish caught )

In total we landed x 2 60s , x4 50s

Loads of 40s and many above 45lb, 30s and think 2 20s to a Total of 39 Carp.

The Summery….

It’s a great place for around 5- 6 anglers Max . ( The weed is not normally bad but that’s nature) Hot year / No rain.

So we took 4 and was plenty enough in our eyes .

Difficulty is Medium- to slightly Hard

Don’t like weed - just don’t book as you never know ?

Food - Excellent
