Trip to Italy 🇮🇹 Parco Del Brenta

This was our trip to Parco Del Brenta in Italy 🇮🇹

Paul and Myself headed off to Heathrow Airport on the Friday morning at 4am to catch the 9:55 am flight to Venice ( Marco Polo ) via British Airways. We booked Club Europe ,so we got 2 suitcases at 32kg each plus cabin bag 10kg and a small rucksack. This would enable us to go prepared, we took all our own bait this way ie boilies as preferred to the house bait.
Always recommend traveling this way and the cost is about £250 each and includes club lounge ie don’t have to pay for anything at the airport or on the plane.

We landed safe n sound and had to book a taxi to Cittedel as another group was coming but not landing till 4pm (could not be assed to wait). The taxi was around £120 which we shared with another chap called Neil who landed 20 mins after us.The hotel Filndre is where we stayed (all ok)  the town was lovely, we went to the big supermarket around the corner and bought a few things as parco prices can be quite expensive but it’s all about the ease of things.
We had a lovely meal in town that night then got to bed all excited for a 10am pick up after breakfast (very good).

Day One

On arrival at the lake the fish was very active in front of the pegs we booked 12 and 13 so all excited at 12pm we finally got in our swims and began to set up the kit provided on VIP package. The Bivvy was Nash Titan t2 which condensation was a issue ,take a bed cover with you, Nash chair and ss3 3 season sleep system hence cover too. The rods are top end, pods are not (took our own)

Fish out by 4pm at 35 plus mirror for me with a start of about 10 - 20 spombs and topping up hourly with 3-4 spombs. The hookbaits Mainline Wafters or Quad hookbaits all fished at 16 wraps peg 12

Peg 13 (Paul) started all at 18 wraps straight out toward electric pylon fishing similar tactics to myself.

Next few days onwards my bites were regularly in daylight hours catching around 2 a day up to 40 plus.

Think come Tuesday I had a 52lb mirror in the day which put me on 10 carp and Paul caught his first one also that day low 20.

Wednesday came and I had my biggest at 9am at 57lb 6 common whoop whoop but think those last two 50s were the end of the pack on myself .

That evening onwards Paul picked up more fish think 4 that night, myself nothing

Thursday came very dead in my swim and left hand rod burst off, massive sturgeon fight then snapped up!!
Friday came small one each that day … then Paul had one more Friday night and his biggest at 40 plus …

Time to pack up and go home the ease of it all !!! as leave bivvies up just as they say ….

PACK YOUR BAGS AND LEAVE …

The week ended on peg 12 = 12 carp to 57 plus , peg 13 = 10 carp to 40 plus, I would highly recommend this lake for winter fishing as still a good challenge; ask a few from this week.

We are going back in three years and would not change a thing as all went to plan …

Thanks STU aka Ginge n my partner in crime Paul
