Fantastic September trip for #tacklecompanyontour

This was our September trip to France šŸ‡«šŸ‡· and what a trip it was at Etang Des Deux Pirres !!!Ā
We arrived Saturday lunchtime as a group of 6 anglers all in excitement as never seen or fished this lake.

On arrival to the lake when people said itā€™s weedy . Our anticipation was confirmed when we all first seen the lake yes it was very weedy ( but clear spots can been seen ) .The draw was done the night before in our hotel near Reims. We always travel Friday and stay around a hour from the lake ( fresh n ready to go )

I came third out the draw and let me tell you thatā€™s bloody good for me !! . The fish was very active at the top of the lake pegs 4,5 and 6 . First to call was Callum straight into peg 5 where a lot of fish was showing.Turner next to draw and went in 6 ( very popular swim) after Pitchers done well in there.

Next up was me, now I had a plan for the area I wanted either rh side of the beach or peg 8 as Monday onwards was a south westerly blowing down there. The swans was all led down in rh beach and I can say not friendly at all !! So mind made up peg 8 it was.Next two to draw was Danny followed by Kev both decided on the beach. Last out the bag Pepsi had last choice and went up the top end near Callum in peg 3.

Day one started , rowing boats ready to start finding spots ( you need them to find those spots in the weed. This is where my day went tits up as I decided I liked the boat on my left of the swim not right so moved it over, I decided to carry on getting stuff from my van then looked out at the water NO BOAT !! Some Wally did not put the rope over the pole properly ( one hour later boat back and put on the right side lol.At this stage time was running out as dinner was at six and not even looked for a spot yet and myself n Pepsi was cooking.A quick row out with the light not very good at this stage i decided drop a marker near the big weed beds and had a prod around think all ok šŸ‘. Nope šŸ‘Ž two rods on spots only one clear other not to bad not even looked at third one and dinner time ! Tried pub chucking third after dinner but solid with weed so decided two rods fishing and not that confident though ā€¦ I decided I would re do in the morning when the sun was out and 30 degrees šŸ˜Ž

First night passed and action straight away for Callum then Pepsi so fish was indeed up that end of the lake and think they had one more each that night.

Sunday fun day ( breakfast ) then get the boat out and use a scope I borrowed from Terry ( cheers mate ) to find three good spots to present a rig , three to four hours later and three spots found and checked and checked everything around them ie rocks n close weed beds etc .. I worked out I had to be straight on DA MONEY could not go left or right more than a max of 2 ft or game over ( hence this was the swim which the weed seemed the worst.

Monday arrived Callum n Pepsi caught agin in the night biggest around mid 40 but proper dark fish šŸŸ as 4-5 ft deep ,clear and weedy. The rest of us sat with no action but after day one i went this is going to be tough going ,I felt more confident on spots maybe not on catching still. The rules within our group is no Ā boats on lakes on any trip but this time I knew we had to use them ( rowing ) that is , first to find spots , second any snagged fish other than that no boats allowed ( spots was supposed to be done day one but carried into day two)

Monday was passing by and dinner was 6pm so I thought hang in there till 5:30pm at 5pm that day left hand rod pulled up tight and I lifted into a fish which after about one minute was locked in a weed bed. Here we go first time on a boat landing a fish ( jacket on) letā€™s go watched videos never done before so tighten down and reeled towards the fish.As I got over the fish it kicked up from the weed to the surface and I scooped and went wow šŸ¤©.The fish went 60 plus , I was happy as Larry photos done donā€™t like water ones but did get used to it ( lake rules ) . Seen the lads at dinner all happy for me and now I felt confident in spots and boats ( till the next run !!! )This was Tuesday early morning same rod , same locked up in the weed as before , jacket on into the boat and reel to the fish. This was my first lesson set a fish playing clutch not loose before you get near the fish as bolted three times as not quick enough to react fish lost and I seen it so just say maybe my brace of 60s went in a hook pull.

Tuesday came and kev caught on the beach and Pepsi n Callum had a few but nothing big mainly 30s .My swim done another that morning just shy of 50lb . Turners away and first boat battle and another 60 is on the bank !!Ā
The week then carried on mainly Callum have one in the evening then myself two or three at night and morning . The big grassy landed at 56 plus then a 63.12 mirror which was a new Pb yes šŸ™Œ.

via blow back style, size 6 curve hooks and fox hooklinks and mainline ( Exocet) Ā all caught on Mainline Cell .

By Thursday everyone had caught around the lake and on about 33 fish as a group , with 3 60s landed and I did say no 50s had been caught other than a grassy so that morning I had two in about a hour window.

Friday came big night for Danny who was doing homemade pizzas šŸ• we all did build this up and even done a chalk board menu ā€¦ after some cracking pizza back to the swims for our last night on 38 fish Ā as a group I said come on letā€™s do the 40 .

The night started with Callum again with a mid 20 before I fell asleep at 9pm the lack of sleep catching up on me.Then whoops wide awake at 12am as I think my body got used to 3 hours sleep a day. Then big old Turner I could hear walking down the bank very excited as just landed a 64 plus common ( photos done ,released the fish and back to bed.Once I led down I could start to hear the fish showing to my right Ā all mainly in front of turner. So I thought shut eye then as they Ā have moved on the last night , only to hear one big bosh over my left hand rod around 3am

Ā

Around 6:30 rod way away ( locked up , life jacket on out we go ) after a small boat battle landed another wide looking carp could this be another 60 ?Ā
As I put the sling under the fish to weigh for photos and lift it was boom definitely another 60 , as I unveiled my prize I noticed the three scales in the middle of the fish itā€™s TRIOOOOOO which has done 80lb last winter. ( S@it Ā the bed !! )Ā

On the scales she went 77.14 and I was buzzing now all I had to do was lift her !!!!Ā
Thanks Turner n Callum for the photo help and I did manage to lift her. As the fish is short but bloody wide done some side shots.Fu##ing get in there was the shout out which is not normally me lol .

Ā

Ā

The week ended on 41 carp , myself ended up with 15 carp which included 1x 70 , 2 x60s , 3 x 50s , 7 x40s
